The Story Behind Icontribute
For generations, communities across Africa have relied on trusted systems like Ajo, Esusu, and Tontines to pool resources, support one another, and build wealth — without banks.
But these systems face real challenges: manual tracking, lack of transparency, and vulnerability to human error or fraud. One dishonest admin can dissolve years of trust.
We built Icontribute to preserve the social power of these traditions while adding the security, automation, and scale of digital finance. The trust is ancient. The tools are modern.

The Problem We're Solving
₦2.3 trillion moves through informal savings circles in Nigeria annually — tracked on paper and WhatsApp.
One untrustworthy admin or defaulting member can destroy an entire group's savings cycle.
Rural and low-income communities are excluded from formal banking but deeply rely on Ajo.
Traditional thrift offers no interest earnings, no fraud protection, and no dispute resolution.
What We Stand For
Everything we build flows from these three core beliefs about money, community, and technology.
Our Mission
Empower African communities by digitizing the thrift systems they already trust — making finance simple, transparent, and accessible to all.
Our Vision
A financially inclusive Africa where every community can save, lend, and grow together — securely, digitally, and confidently.
