Icontribute is a community-powered savings and lending platform that digitizes traditional African thrift systems (like Ajo and Esusu), allowing users to save, lend, and grow together in a transparent, secure environment.

Unlike banks or individual-focused apps, our core model is built on community and social trust. We enable group savings, community-powered lending without collateral, and democratic governance, which are features not found in traditional fintech platforms.

You can create a new group and invite people you know and trust. To join an existing group, you must receive an invitation from a current member. This invite-only system ensures group integrity and is built on real-world trust.

Our platform features democratic governance. Members can initiate a vote to replace an inactive or abusive group admin, ensuring the group remains healthy and accountable to its members.

It's a structured savings model that rewards discipline. You choose how strictly you want to lock your funds. The stricter the lock, the higher the interest rate (up to 20% p.a.). Milder locks offer lower interest but allow for early withdrawal with a clear, predefined penalty.

The "Total Lock" option offers our highest interest rate of 20% per annum. This option is designed for maximum discipline, as funds cannot be withdrawn before the set end date under any circumstances.

No credit score is needed. Eligibility is based on your participation in your thrift group. If you are an active saver and have not yet received your payout, you are eligible to borrow up to 50% of your eventual payout amount.
